I avoid meat from animals raised on antibiotics like, well, the plague. This article explains why you should, too:

By choosing meats that are antibiotic-free, not only am I looking out for my health, I am looking out for everyone’s. And it’s so important to vote with your dollars — if we don’t buy these products, the companies that produce them will be forced to change. Perhaps I’m a little optimistic on that count, but enough people united in a cause can effect change!

And now that you know why you should never buy meat from animals given subtheraputic antibiotics, here is how you can tell if the meat you buy is antibiotic-free:
